From November 25 through December 10, CFK participated in a 16 day global movement to end violence against women. We know that strong, healthy girls make strong communities and so our focus was on empowerment and health.
At our opening event, 350 community members participated in gender based violence education outreach activities. CFK provided HIV testing to 50 adolescent girls and conducted cervical cancer screenings for 38 teenage mothers.
To close our 16 days of activism, we joined other influential community partners in pledging our support and commitment to end gender based violence. Two brave participants in our FUNZO Young Mothers program shared their own stories of gender based violence and the burden, stigmatism and educational discrimination they face as a result.
We stand by all women who have experienced gender based violence and remain committed to our work.
You can support our efforts by donating to CFK. Consider joining us as monthly recurring donor at the $20 level which would support the school fees for a year of participant in our FUNZO Young Mothers program.
